Free waste and recycling options available across Whyalla
Whyalla City Council is reminding residents that numerous free and legal waste disposal and recycling services are available across the city.
The services cover a wide range of common household items, including batteries, bottles and cans, cardboard, engine oil, mobile phones and accessories, printer cartridges, spectacles, whitegoods and scrap metal. Eligible households can also access one free hard waste collection each year.
Council has created a dedicated webpage bringing together information about the items accepted, participating locations and relevant contact details, making it easier for residents to find the right disposal option.
The webpage also provides links for reporting abandoned shopping trolleys so they can be collected and returned to the relevant supermarket.

Residents can also contact Whyalla City Council on 8640 3444 if they know of an additional free service that could be included on the webpage.
