Winning Mental Health Matters Round designs revealed
The winning designs from Whyalla’s Mental Health Matters Round (MHMR) Design Competition have been revealed!
We received a huge response from the community, with more than 250 entries received from local students.
Congratulations to our winners:
- Ruby (Samaritan College) - Westlands United Soccer Club
- Raennielle (Samaritan College) - Wanderers Soccer Club
- Emma (Whyalla Secondary College) - Steel United Soccer Club
- Lilli-anne (Whyalla Secondary College) - Croatia Soccer Club
- Makenzy (Samaritan College) - Lions Soccer Club
The competition - run in collaboration with Whyalla City Council, Centacare Catholic Country SA and headspace - invited students to create artwork for the soccer club uniforms that will feature in the 2026 Mental Health Matters Round matches, continuing the tradition of partnering with local sporting groups to promote mental wellbeing, connection and community engagement.
The selected designs have been brought to life on official playing uniforms, helping to spark conversations about mental health both on and off the soccer pitch.
Youth Activation Officer Chloe Fisher said the standard of entries was incredibly high this year.
"We received some fantastic submissions, and it was clear that a lot of time and effort had gone into the designs," Ms Fisher said.
"It was great to see so much creativity and to have people interpreting the theme in their own way. Congratulations to our winners, and a big thank you to everyone who entered and shared their ideas with us.
"Also a huge thank you to our sponsors - Medicare Mental Health, Alligator Energy, Stassi Consulting Engineers and Workforce Extensions - who's support ensured we could produce these great new uniforms, which are a key part in promoting the Mental Health Matters message."
