Library Services

How do I join?

Membership is free and open to everyone! Just bring in your current ID showing your name and address and we will complete your application with you. Or you can join online by clicking here and confirm your details when you visit the library.

Those under 18 will require the signature of a parent or guardian.

Borrowing

You can borrow up to 35 items (please note that while the One Card Network policy differs from this, our policy overrides). Items are available to loan for 4 weeks. Exceptions apply to high demand items.

If the item you are after is in our catalogue but not on the shelves, you can place a reservation on this item. If we don’t have the item in our collection we will try and source a copy from another Library  for you.

Overdue Items

Please remember that other people may be waiting for the items you have borrowed and return them on time.

A receipt will be generated each time you borrow with the due date of all your items. If you have given the library your email address, mobile phone number or landline, you will receive an automated reminder message 3 days before your loans are due and an overdue notice 4 days after your loans are due.

If items are not returned within 14 days of the due date a final notice will be posted to you and your borrowing and Internet privileges may be suspended until the items are returned.

After a further 14 days (28 days in total) if your items have still not been returned you will be issued with a letter listing the items outstanding and their costs. A  $5.00 processing fee will also be added to your account. You may not be able to borrow or access the Internet until all outstanding items have been returned or the amount owing on your account is paid for in full.

Outreach Library Service

If you or someone you know is having problems getting into the library and still wish to borrow books, DVD's or audio books, we can help. This may be a temporary or a permanent arrangement.

Items are selected by trained staff based on your preferences given on your registration form. Each month the Items are delivered directly to you by one of our of volunteers and the previous months items are picked up and taken back to the library.

Please contact our Library Outreach Officer on (08)8645 7891 for further information.
