Free Hard Waste options available for Whyalla residents
With the holiday period fast approaching, many Whyalla households are beginning the annual clean-up clearing out garages, sheds and spare rooms to make space for new items, visitors and celebrations.
Whyalla City Council is reminding residents that there are free and legal hard waste disposal options available, making it easy to dispose of unwanted items responsibly without resorting to illegal dumping.
Illegal dumping places a significant burden on the community, creating environmental harm, safety risks and unnecessary clean-up costs that are ultimately borne by ratepayers.
Council is urging residents to make use the services available.

Council reminds residents that dumping items on roadsides, vacant land, reserves or near bins is illegal and can attract fines. If an item can’t be reused, donated or sold, there are legitimate disposal pathways available.
