Works are now underway at Civic Park and some areas near the play space and skate bowl will be temporarily unavailable.
The retaining walls are being repaired and new pavement will be installed to better connect the play space, skate park and courts. The existing courts are also being resurfaced and upgraded. Once finished, there will be one half basketball court, two Four Square courts and a new pickleball court. The pickleball net is currently being manufactured and is expected to arrive in the coming months.
Construction of the new Civic Park toilet block is also progressing. The new modular building will include one unisex accessible cubicle, three unisex ambulant cubicles and a rear service/store area. Drainage, power and sewer works have already started. The building will be delivered in three sections and installed onsite over a couple of days, followed by final fit-out works. The toilets will include auto-locking doors and a safer rear-wall sharps disposal system.
