The work crew has begun the work to install the new Rebound Ace playing surface.
However, they have run out of time prior to Christmas to install the second coat of the playing surface, as well as the line marking.
They are hoping to return on Friday 2 January, to complete the works. We are planning for all works will be complete by Tuesday 6 January 2026.
In the meantime, the court will be left open for the public to use over the Christmas break. The surface is safe and fine to use in the meantime.

The new playing surface will be installed over five days, beginning Monday 15 December and concluding on Friday 19 December 2025.
There will be no access to the basketball court while these works are occurring, however, we do expect it to be open to the public over the following weekend, starting Saturday 20 December.

The installation of the new playing surface / line marking has been delayed until December 4.
-
The new bitumen surface has now been laid at the basketball court and is open for public use while it cures. To ensure the best result, line marking will be completed at a later date.

The Ada Ryan Gardens Basketball Court will receive an upgrade.
Referring to the images below, this (project area) section of courts will be closed intermittently as works occur.
The first closure will occur between the dates of Friday September 12 and Monday 15 September, when the old playing surface will be profiled off and new asphalt installed.
These courts will then reopen for four to six weeks, as the asphalt cures, prior to the new playing surface being installed, again closing these courts for a week.
We anticipate that all works to refurbish the existing basketball court playing surface will be complete by the end of the year.
