Salty 'Sea' esta returns – bigger, better and now with an extra day of activation!

The countdown is on – Whyalla’s favourite celebration is back!

Mark your calendars for Saturday, June 7 from 12pm to 8pm at the Ada Ryan Gardens, because Salty ‘Sea’esta is returning with a full day of fun — and this year, the good times will keep rolling with an extra day of celebrations at Salty Sunday on Sunday, June 8 from 10am-1pm at Rotary Park down at the Whyalla Foreshore.

This year’s two-day Salty event is packed with more activities, more entertainment, and more reasons to join in the fun. With something for the whole community, the event caters to families, young people, and everyone in between.

“This year’s Salty ‘Sea’esta is shaping up to be our biggest and best yet,” said Events Coordinator Ryan Sutherland. “We’ve doubled the fun expanding the Salty ‘Sea’esta with a longer event run time on Saturday and presenting a sneaky short relaxed Sunday event at the foreshore from 10am-1pm. We can’t wait to see everyone out enjoying it.”

Part of the annual Cuttlefest celebrations, Salty ‘Sea’esta offers a variety of activities and attractions such as, market stalls, food and beveragevendors, live music, and roving artists throughout the gardens. And of course, it would not be complete without a visit from the crowd favourite — Sparkles the Inflatable Cuttlefish who will be joined by some other marine creatures thanks to the return of the Nylon Zoo.

“We’ve worked hard to make this event bigger and better this year, with a longer list of stalls holders, food and beverage vendors, local and visiting entertainers. We’ve got a henna artists and caricature artists joining us too so you can take a lasting memory with you” Ms Sutherland added. “If you're a local or visitor to the city we’d love to see you there.”

The celebrations continue on Sunday, June 8, at Rotary Park down the Whyalla Foreshore with Adelaide Kite Flyers flying their kites, the Whyalla Car Enthusiasts putting on a display and roving artists providing the entertainment. There will be great food, and plenty of opportunities to relax and enjoy the morning.
