Philled In: Mayor Stone's May-June Engagements

There’s a lot to ‘Phill the community in on’ this month, with yet another busy period for Whyalla Mayor Phill Stone.

The past month saw Mayor Stone involved in government relations (including the steelworks sale and project updates), media interviews, community engagement and regional advocacy; as well as speaking at several local community events.

“Looking back, there was a lot on, and it’s great to be able to represent both council and the city on such a broad range of topics and issues,” Mayor Stone said.

“Some of the highlights included meeting some of the potential new steelworks owners regarding their plans for the future; congratulating our future leaders by presenting council student grants at Adelaide University’s Whyalla campus; and of course, the Philippine Independence Day celebration, which are always a fantastic event.”
