STRICTLY STONE AGE: Council CEO Chris Cowley was one of the many characters in last year's pageant. They'll be plenty more again at this Sunday's GFG Alliance Whyalla Christmas Pageant.

It was a bit sad to postpone the pageant due to rain back in November but the rescheduled pageant on Sunday (December 9) has lost nothing as a spectacle with more than 40 floats including, of course, Santa on his sleigh.

Joining Santa will be the Gupta Express float with GFG Alliance boss Sanjeev Gupta and his family. There will also be the CSL Pirate Ship, the Swordcraft Iron Triangle Medieval Fantasy, Council’s Kobotasaurus, vintage cars, four-wheel-drives and many more colourful floats, vehicles and people marching. Throw in plenty of characters running around to add to the fun and it promises to be another fantastic pageant

The Whyalla Toy Run will rumble down the pageant route first on its way to Ada Ryan Gardens where the After Pageant Fair and fireworks will be held and there will also be Christmas Street Entertainment in City Plaza.

Get your Christmas glitter on, pack a deck chair or just sit out on the road and enjoy every moment of the GFG Alliance Whyalla Christmas Pageant is gets underway at 5pm.

4.30pm: Toy Run starts at Whyalla Public Library.

5pm: Pageant progresses along route to Ada Ryan Gardens.

6pm: After Pageant Fair kicks off with Santa, entertainment, activities, stalls, food and refreshments.

8.45pm: Fireworks off the breakwater.
