Learn more about waste management at Salty 'Sea'esta

Residents attending Salty 'Sea'esta this Saturday are encouraged to stop by the KESAB waste education stall, where Waste Educator Eloise will be on hand to share practical advice, answer questions and help residents better understand waste management in Whyalla.

Returning as part of Whyalla's annual Cuttlefest celebrations, Salty 'Sea'esta will transform Ada Ryan Gardens into a vibrant community event featuring entertainment, market stalls, food vendors, family activities and community displays.

The KESAB stall will provide an opportunity for residents to learn more about recycling, food organics and garden organics, contamination prevention and the importance of using the correct bin for household waste.

Visitors are encouraged to bring along their waste and recycling questions, particularly those tricky items that can often leave residents unsure about the correct disposal method.

At the KESAB stall, community members can:

  • Pick up a free kitchen caddy
  • Collect compostable caddy liners
  • Receive a handy bin magnet showing what goes in each bin
  • Test their knowledge with a mini bin sorting game
  • Learn more about recycling correctly in Whyalla
  • Find out what broadly belongs in each household bin
  • Ask questions about tricky waste items and receive practical advice from a waste educator

Waste education plays an important role in helping residents reduce contamination, increase resource recovery and ensure recyclable and organic materials are processed correctly. By understanding what belongs in each bin, households can contribute to a cleaner and more sustainable community.

Whether you're looking for clarification on difficult-to-dispose-of items, or simply wanting to refresh your knowledge, the KESAB stall will have information and resources available to help. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to speak directly with a waste educator while enjoying everything Salty 'Sea'esta has to offer.
