Foreshore Toilet Renewal

Council is now in the process of renewing the Foreshore toilets located behind the Foreshore Visitor Information Pod. The demolition is set to commence on Tuesday July 2 to Thursday July 4, starting with the closure of the existing toilets and the putting up the temporary fencing to secure the site during these works.

This renewal project will result in a contemporary facility that will improve safety, accessibility, and practicality for all users, with a strong emphasis on compliance with the Building Code of Australia. The renewed public toilet block will feature a vinyl wrap, showing a picture of the Whyalla Foreshore in the 1950’s. The total cost of delivery for this project is almost $340,000.

Mayor Phill Stone said the replacement of these facilities will be a great addition to the Whyalla Foreshore ‘’the much-needed upgrade will provide good modern facilities for all our community and visitors.’’

New Toilet Features:

  • three new ambulant toilets (designed for people with differing levels of ability)
  • Disability Discrimination Act compliant toilet
  • all aluminium, corrosion resistant construction
  • coloured matched to fit in with the VIC Pod
  • veranda with wind / privacy screen across the front doors
  • separate entrance to rear service duct housing the toilet cisterns, to minimise vandalism
  • vinyl wrap with old Foreshore picture on the back of the toilets.
