Cuttlefest Photography Exhibition: Calling all photographers!

Photographers across the region are invited to showcase the extraordinary underwater and marine beauty of Whyalla as part of Cuttlefest 2026.

Whyalla City Council is inviting local and regional photographers to showcase their talent in the 2026 Cuttlefest Photography Exhibition, with submissions open until Friday, 22 May 2026.

Photographers of all experience levels are encouraged to submit their most breathtaking images, capturing the beauty and uniqueness of the coastal region.

Whyalla City Council & Country Arts SA, Community Activation Arts and Cultural Facilitator, Teresa Coles, said the exhibition is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate local creativity and the natural environment.

“This is a fantastic chance to highlight our local talent and incredible marine life and landscapes. Whether it’s underwater photography, coastal scenes, or iconic landmarks — from a stunning sunrise over the jetty, dolphins playing in the marina, a star-filled sky above the lighthouse, or dramatic storm clouds rolling across the water — we would love to share these moments with the community,” Ms Coles said.

The exhibition will run throughout June and July 2026 at the Westland Shopping Centre, with additional displays hosted at cafés and restaurants across Whyalla.

Community members will also have the opportunity to vote for their favourite images in the People’s Choice Awards, with categories including Youth, Coastline, Underwater and others.

This initiative aims to highlight the remarkable underwater and coastal environment in and around Whyalla as part of the Cuttlefest celebrations.

While not a competition, the exhibition provides a valuable platform for photographers to display their work, with the option to offer pieces for sale.

Photographers interested in participating can access the full terms and conditions, along with the submission form at  www.whyalla.com/cuttlefest
