Whyalla Recreation Centre receives a fresh upgrade

The Whyalla Recreation Centre is sporting a new look, with its front façade recently upgraded to create a more welcoming space for the community.

The upgrade includes a fresh paint job, updated signage, and the addition of a grassed area where visitors can relax and soak up the sun.

Whyalla Recreation Centre Manager, James Adair, said the upgrade marks another exciting milestone for the facility.

“We are so happy with the façade upgrade. Following the pool renovation, this feels like another key step in transforming the centre into a more vibrant space for the community,” Mr Adair said.

“With more improvements planned for this year, we are committed to make the Whyalla Recreation Centre a place the community can be proud of.”

Mayor Phill Stone said the upgrade is a welcomed change, “The old sign had definitely seen better days, so it’s great to see the front of the Rec Centre finally reflect the energy and activity happening inside,” Mayor Stone said.

“Council is proud to partner with the YMCA on these improvements and continue investing in spaces that support our community’s wellbeing.”

The improvements were jointly funded by the YMCA and Whyalla City Council.
