Whyalla joins the nation for Clean Up Australia Day
The Whyalla community is invited to roll up their sleeves and take part in Clean Up Australia Day on Sunday, 30 March, from 10am to 1pm at Wilson Park.
The official Clean Up Australia Day website encourages people to clean up Australia any day of the year, so we have decided to tie ours in with our uneARTh festival, ensuring the clean-up is part of our month-long celebration!
Participants can register at the site to collect bags, with a skip bin provided by Veolia to dispose of all the rubbish collected. After the clean-up, volunteers will be treated to a free sausage sizzle for their efforts.
Volunteers can register on the day, collect their bags, and head off to clean up any area of their choice. They can then return to Wilson Park to dispose of their rubbish and enjoy a free drink and sausage sizzle as a thank you.
Jo-Anne McGrath, Project and Contract Support Officer, encouraged the community to get involved in the initiative:
“Clean Up Australia Day is a fantastic opportunity for residents to come together to make a difference. Whether you join as a group or an individual, every effort counts. We encourage everyone to get involved and look after our environment.”
Join us at Wilson Park and be part of this national movement to care for our environment.
