Whyalla Airport colouring competition winners announced

The Whyalla Airport Colouring Competition has come to a close, with winners officially announced and celebrated for their creative entries.

The competition recently concluded with a prize presentation at the Whyalla Airport, where winners and were met by representatives from Fulton Hogan to receive their prizes and certificates for their outstanding entries.

Originally intended to award just three overall winners, the judging panel from Fulton Hogan found themselves so impressed by the creativity shown in the entries that they chose to extend the prize pool, generously awarding additional prizes to runners-up.

Fulton Hogan Project Manager for the Whyalla Airport Runway Project, Hayden Dutney, said the decision to extend the number of winners was an easy one,

“We were absolutely blown away by the effort shown by all the local young people who entered,” Mr Dutney said.

“It was simply too hard to pick just three – the standard was so high that we knew we had to recognise more of these young artists. A big congratulations to everyone who took part.”

Whyalla City Council Youth Activation Officer, Chloe Fisher, also praised the entries.

“The response from local young people has been amazing, and it was so lovely to see them connect with such an important city project in a fun and creative way,” Ms Fisher said.
