Garage Sale Trail kicks off this weekend
Get ready to join Australia’s biggest pre-loved treasure hunt — the annual Garage Sale Trail starts this weekend!
Running over two weekends, November 8–9 and November 15–16, the Trail is your chance to snap up bargains, declutter and join a nationwide movement that celebrates reuse and recycling.
It’s not too late to host a sale, so if you’ve got some hidden treasures lying around, register today.
One local sale not to miss is at Triple Y Radio, happening Saturday, November 15 from 8am to 2pm. They’ll have everything from furniture and music to bric-a-brac and more, plus bacon and egg rolls to kickstart your morning of bargain hunting. Kids can also get in on the fun with radio host Burnsy offering studio walkthroughs and the chance to jump on air.
Triple Y’s Emily Rawlings said the team has pulled together a bit of everything for the day, “You name it — we’ve probably got it! Come see what this ragtag bunch of radio hosts has collected over the years. There’s something for everyone — and you can grab a bacon and egg roll while you’re here!”
Garage Sale Trail also aligns with National Recycling Week (10–16 November), led by Planet Ark, which encourages Australians to reduce waste, recycle right, and cut contamination.
This year’s focus is on what not to put in your recycling bin, helping communities improve recycling habits. Councils and residents can explore adaptable graphics, posters, and other tools to make a difference. Find out more at whycc.au/47CsGqN.
