The designs were selected by a judging panel from the Whyalla Netball Association, with each club choosing the design for their team. These dresses will be worn by A-grade netball players during the MHMR weekend, with clubs set to receive them next week.
Youth Activation Officer Chloe Fisher praised the winning designs and the achievement of the students, saying, "The dresses look amazing! For these students to see their designs come to life and worn on court is a huge achievement, and they should all be proud of their work.”
The Mental Health Matters Round will be held on 15–16 August, following a successful debut in the Whyalla Football League last year. This year marks the first time the Whyalla Netball Association has joined the movement, with plans to expand to other sports in future.
The initiative is a collaboration between Whyalla City Council, headspace, and the Whyalla Netball Association, proudly funded by Council, headspace, and generous sponsors. The weekend will feature sport, skills clinics, and special guest appearances, all focused on raising mental health awareness in the community.
