Camping at Point Lowly just got easier
All camping reservations at Point Lowly will move to a simple online system through BookEasy, the same platform already used across much of the Eyre Peninsula. The system is now live, with bookings available for stays from 1 December onwards.
We know Point Lowly is a special place for both locals and visitors. Moving to an online system means campers can book anytime, day or night, enjoy fairer access to sites, and help reduce overcrowding. It also gives Council better insights into how the area is used, guiding future improvements and aligning with other campgrounds in the region.
· There are five camping areas in total – all existing areas.
· Each area is now named after a local fish species: Snapper, Kingfish, Whiting, Garfish and Tommy Ruff.
· A total of 19 campsites will be available each night across the five areas.
· The system is moving to allocated, numbered campsites.
Events and Tourism Lead Jenny Barnes said the change will make Point Lowly camping more accessible and sustainable.
“This system will allow us to maintain the unique character of Point Lowly while providing a more reliable and structured approach to camping – one that benefits both locals and visitors alike,” Ms Barnes said.
