Call for entries for the Cuttlefest Underwater and Marine Photography Exhibition
The City of Whyalla invites photographers to participate in the 2025 Cuttlefest Underwater and Marine Photography Exhibition, a highlight of the annual Cuttlefest celebration. This exhibition offers a platform for both emerging and experienced photographers to showcase Whyalla's marine environment.
Submission details:
* Deadline: Friday, May 23
* Requirements: Framed and ready-to-hang underwater and marine photographs capturing Whyalla's unique marine life
* Exhibition Venue: Various venues across Whyalla including cafés and restaurants
* Exhibition Dates: Displayed throughout June and July
Photographers are encouraged to submit images that highlight the vibrant marine biodiversity of the region, including the iconic Giant Australian Cuttlefish. This exhibition aims to celebrate and raise awareness of Whyalla's unique marine ecosystems.
Please note that this is not a competition, but an opportunity for photographers to display their work. Artists may choose to offer their artworks for sale. Photographers are also encouraged to approach local venues they are connected with to display their work. All participating venues will be featured on an online Cuttlefest Arts & Photography Trail, promoting the exhibition to both locals and visitors.
“This is a great opportunity to showcase our local talent and incredible marine life, so I encourage all photographers to submit their work and be part of Cuttlefest 2025,” said Teresa Coles, Community Activation Arts & Cultural Facilitator.
