2025 Cuttlefest Art Prize now open
The Cuttlefest Art Prize 2025 has officially launched and is now open to all Whyalla residents and school groups! This competition encourages artists of all ages to celebrate our region’s unique marine life through creativity—with a $3,000 prize pool up for grabs.
Presented in partnership with Whyalla City Council, Whyalla Business & Tourism, and Country Arts SA, this year's competition invites entries in 2D or 3D formats, showcasing the giant cuttlefish or other local marine-inspired themes.
“This is such a fantastic opportunity for Whyalla’s creative community,” Teresa Coles, Community Activation Arts & Cultural Facilitator, said “We’re so excited to launch this year’s Cuttlefest Art Prize and can’t wait to see what our creative community brings to life. With a strong focus on local marine themes and categories that highlight environmental awareness, First Nations perspectives, and youth talent, it’s a great opportunity for everyone to get involved. The ever-popular People’s Choice Award also returns—so make sure to visit the exhibition and cast your vote!”
All entries will be exhibited at the Middleback Arts Centre Foyer from 4 June to 2 August 2025, with the Awards Night scheduled for Tuesday 1 July. Artworks will remain on display until Saturday 2 August.
