Join us for Clean Up Australia Day
Whyalla, it’s time to step up to tidy up this Clean Up Australia Day.
The Whyalla City Council will be hosting a registration site at Civic Park on Sunday 3 March 2024 from 10am – 1pm, making it easy for as many locals as possible to get involved in improving the look of our great city.
Mayor Phill Stone expressed his aspiration for the community to support the initiatives of this year's Clean Up Australia Day.
" Clean Up Australia Day provides a wonderful opportunity for our community to unite and contribute to enhancing the cleanliness of our city," Mayor Stone said.
“We urge our residents to join us in cleaning up litter in our streets and parks and demonstrating their pride in keeping Whyalla looking great.”
Registrations will be open from 10am, with participants encouraged to come down with their gloves, wearing enclosed shoes, pick up their rubbish bag and tell the registration team the area they have chosen to clean up.
At the conclusion of the clean-up, registered participants are asked to return to Civic Park to dispose of the rubbish in the skip bins provided and enjoy a FREE sausage sizzle and drinks.
If you are a business, youth group or school, you can get involved too, hosting your own Clean Up Australia Day event. Visit the Clean Up Australia Day webpage for more information and to register your own event.
Registrations can also be completed prior to the event, by visiting Clean Up Australia
