Harley Owners Group (HOG) State Rally thunders into town
Get ready to hear the roar of Harley motorbikes through the city as the S.A. Harley Owners Group (HOG) State Rally will take place in Whyalla this October Long Weekend! With around 200 riders coming to town over the long weekend.
The weekend of events will be highlighted by a day for the community this Saturday 5 October. The community will have the chance to get up close and personal with the rally attendees and their bikes. Attendees will take to the streets before an event being held at the foreshore. Saturday’s events will kick off at 10am with the Thunder Run, a procession of Harley-Davidson motorcycles starting from Roopena Football and Sporting Club making their way through the streets of Whyalla, offering residents the chance to cheer on the riders and enjoy the spectacle. Be sure to get outside and wave them on! (see map below).
The ride will finish at Neagle Terrace on the Whyalla Foreshore, where the fun continues with a day packed full of activities for the whole family, including a Show and Shine, Gymkhana Chapter Games, local market stalls, food vendors, and more.
Event organisers, the Adelaide Chapter of the Harley Owners Group (HOG), a family-oriented club with a passion for Harley-Davidson motorcycles, has been working on this event for well over 6months.
Adelaide Chapter Assistant Director Bob Woodfull said “We’ve had a great response from the HOG community who are really looking forward to coming to Whyalla and checking out the region. We’ve got over 200 Harley enthusiast's riding from 19 different Chapters (Clubs), they are coming to Whyalla from all around Australia, from NSW, Victoria, Queensland and even WA.”
We are encouraging the Whyalla community to come down to the Foreshore and get involved! There will be a Show and Shine and Chapter Games events happening, which are a lot of fun. We’ll also be looking for community involvement, encouraging people to vote for the People's Choice Best on Show bike'' said Mr Woodfull.
