Foreshore Cafe searching for new operators
An exciting opportunity to run the foreshore café has just opened up, with current operators A Little Fried choosing to focus on their deli facility.
Operators Michele Dix and Robbie Rigg said they had gained some great exposure from running the café since 2022, but are keen to focus on a single operation, rather than spreading themselves across multiple facilities.
“We’re proud of what we’ve been able to achieve in our time running the Seaview Café and are now ready to hand it over to the next operators while we look to consolidate all of our businesses together,” Ms Dix said.
“We’ve appreciated the support of council over the past few years, so are happy to help them transition to the next operators by remaining open until late September.
“We’d like to thank everyone who has supported us during this time and hope you can continue supporting us at our William Street business. We wish council and the new operators all the best, as the foreshore café is an important asset for Whyalla.”
Mayor Phill Stone said council had already put out a call for new operators, aiming for a smooth transition that minimised disruption to the service.
“Our city is expected to experience major growth over the coming years – with major projects like the Hydrogen Jobs Plan due to come online – so this is a fantastic opportunity for a business looking to get off the ground or expand its existing offering,” Mayor Stone said.
“We thank A Little Fried for the service offered to the community and tourists over the past two years. We also appreciate their willingness to continue operating from the foreshore while we secure a new lessee and wish them all the best in their ongoing ventures.”
A Little Fried will continue operating from the Foreshore Cafe until September 29, 2024.
