Clean Up Australia Day approaches

Whyalla City Council is calling on the entire community to rise and take action to clean up our city on this Clean Up Australia Day.

Council is set to host a registration hub at Civic Park this Sunday, March 3, 2024, from 10 am to 1 pm, making participation simple for as many locals as possible to join in enhancing the appearance of our wonderful city. Participants are encouraged to come down with their gloves, wearing enclosed shoes, pick up their rubbish bag and tell the registration team the area they have chosen to clean up.

Mayor Stone emphasised the importance of Whyalla residents rising to the occasion, stating, "Our outdoor staff work tirelessly to keep our city looking good, but this is also a community issue, so participation in this event is pivotal. Let's all work together to make a difference."

If you missed out on registering for the Take the Pledge campaign and collecting your caddy, registration and the caddies will be available for pick up this Sunday.

Upon completion of the cleanup, registered participants are requested to return to Civic Park to dispose of their rubbish in the provided skip bins and partake in a complimentary sausage sizzle and beverages.

Registrations can also be completed prior to the event, by visiting Clean Up Australia
