Inclusive Santa session at the library

Session time: 12th Dec, 2–4pm

After last year's success, we’re again offering two special sessions designed for individuals with additional needs, providing a quiet, calm environment to meet Father Christmas. These sessions eliminate overwhelming crowds, loud noises, and long waits by offering scheduled individual time slots.

We kindly ask that attendees bring their own phone or camera for taking photos to keep things personal and simple.

If you or someone you know would benefit from this inclusive experience, contact Chloe on 0427 165 232 to book your spot or ask any questions.

Mail your letters to Santa at council!

Exciting news, Council's Christmas Letterbox is now open! If you want your letter to reach Father Christmas on time, head over to our Civic Building on Grundel Street and drop it into the special red letterbox. Our amazing 'Santa's little helpers' at customer service will take care of the rest, ensuring your letter makes its way to the North Pole. Don't forget to include a return address so that the replies can reach you in time for the big day!

Plus, we're inviting children to get creative and decorate ornaments no larger than 10 x 10 cm. Bring them along with your letter, and 'Santa's little helpers' will proudly display them on our Christmas tree, right next to the letterbox. Templates for colouring and decorating are available from our friendly 'Jingle-Ladies' at Customer Service.

A search for Whyalla's brightest with Robert Woodland

Nominating deserving individuals for our annual Citizen of the Year awards is a great way to recognise individuals who have made a noteworthy contribution during the past year, as well as acknowledging previous achievements and ongoing contribution over and above their normal employment duties.

So far we have only received ONE nomination for our upcoming awards in January, don't let those important people in our community go unrecognised for the incredible work they do. Nominate NOW before time runs out to submit your nomination.

Recently, we had the opportunity to talk with Community Service award recipient for 2024 Robert Woodland, to discuss the importance of these awards in our community.
