City Update 20 December 2024

Christmas on the Avenue success

Whyalla had a huge turnout for the GFG Christmas Pageant, with thousands lining the streets to enjoy the floats and festivities. Highlights included appearances from Barbie, Bluey, and Father Christmas, who wished the community a very Merry Christmas.

A huge thank you to everyone who made the day magical, our incredible staff, volunteers (Navy Cadets, Rotary Club, HOPE Whyalla), sponsors (including Mine Spec Industries and Commonwealth Bank), and local facilities like TAFE Whyalla and the Whyalla Recreation Centre.

Relive the festive fun with our highlight reel—you might even spot yourself! Once again thank you to everyone who helped bring the weekend's events to life this year.

GOOD NEWS: The flying fox at the Jim Pollock Whyalla Wetlands playground has been restored! We had two enthusiastic young kids, Willow and Ryder, test it out and were thoroughly impressed. Be sure to check it out this summer.
