City Update 2 August 2024

Foreshore Café searching for new operators

An exciting opportunity to run the foreshore café has just opened up, with current operators A Little Fried choosing to focus on their deli facility. Mayor Phill Stone said council was now putting out a call for new operators, aiming for a smooth transition that minimised disruption to the service - “We thank A Little Fried for their service and appreciate their willingness to continue operating from the foreshore while we secure a new lessee. We wish them all the best in their ongoing ventures.”

A Little Fried will continue operating from the foreshore café until 29 September 2024. Operators Michele and Robbie said: “We’d like to thank everyone who has supported us during this time and hope you can continue supporting us at our William Street business.”

Anyone interested in tendering for the operations is encouraged to head to council’s website, where an Expression of Interest document will be uploaded soon. Click here for the full update: https://bit.ly/46tAKcn

DonateLife Week

DonateLife Week is a national awareness week that takes place in July each year to encourage more Australians to get behind organ and tissue donation. This year DonateLife Week is taking place from Sunday 28 July - Sunday 4 August 2024 and will be launched with an event on the Adelaide Riverbank Lawns (see poster below for details).

Around 80% of Australians aged 16+ support organ and tissue donation – yet only 7 million have registered. The number should be closer to 16 million.

Register as an organ and tissue donor today, it only takes 1 minute at donatelife.gov.au or with 3 taps on your Express Plus Medicare app.
