Major Economic Summit
There was a great turnout at the State Government’s Economic Summit, with hundreds of interested locals hearing from Premier Peter Malinauskas and several of his ministers about his government's plans for our region's future. Mayor Phill Stone was proud to welcome the Premier and members of his cabinet to our city.
We've had numerous queries regarding the summit, with many locals unable to attend. The State Government has created a State Prosperity Project website, which outlines the key areas covered by the Premier during the event: https://bit.ly/3uWiCcF. A summary document was also handed out, with a downloadable version available here: https://bit.ly/3SU5Ymn

Hydrogen Jobs Plan housing
More good news for our city, with the State Government announcing the first stage of development to cater for the Hydrogen Jobs Plan construction. Most importantly, this is not temporary accommodation that will be moved on when current projects are complete – it represents a long-term investment in Whyalla. We’ll provide further updates soon on our ongoing partnership with the State Government on further housing and social infrastructure initiatives, highlighting the many potential development opportunities available across our city. Find out more about how we’re encouraging development across the city to further support this project (and more): https://bit.ly/3Tc1IjB. Link to shared post: https://bit.ly/3wzYTQz
