A search for Whyalla's brightest with Robert Woodland

Recently, we had the opportunity to talk with Community Service award recipient for 2024 Robert Woodland, to discuss the importance of nominating for the Citizen of the Year awards.

The awards recognise individuals who have made a noteworthy contribution during the past year, as well as acknowledging previous achievements and ongoing contribution over and above their normal employment duties.

Robert is known in the Whyalla community for donating his time and skills to capturing incredible moments of junior and senior local sport. His photographic contributions extend to various sports clubs, including Soccer, Football, Gymnastics and much more.

"The feeling of being recognised was absolutely fantastic—it truly uplifted me. Everyone deserves to experience that." said Robert Woodland

There are numerous awards you can nominate community members for, including:

  • Citizen of the Year
  • Senior Citizen of the Year
  • Young Citizen of the Year
  • Community Service
