Help shape the future of Whyalla events

Published 14th March 2023
We’d like to know your thoughts on Whyalla City Council’s program of events to help better plan for events and community activities over the next 5-10 years

events survey

Whyalla City Council would like the community to help shape the future of local events, ensuring they continue to enhance the liveability of our city.

To assist with this, Council has now launched its events survey, with the results to guide the creation and planning of events for the next five-to-ten years.

What events do you like? What do you want to see more of? What could be done better? What prevents you from attending local events? How would you measure an event’s success?

Answers to all these questions and more will provide a better picture of community expectations, helping Council ensure its long-term events calendar reflects these preferences.

The survey’s only open for a short time, so be sure to have your say before the survey closes on Monday 27 March at 5pm. There are several ways you can get involved, including:

  • Completing the online survey here
  • Picking up a physical copy from council’s Civic Building, Whyalla Public Library, Visitor Information Centre or Whyalla Child Care Centre. Completed surveys can be returned to the same pickup locations
  • Contacting council direct on 8640 3444 or council@whyalla.sa.gov.au to request a copy
  • Keeping an eye out for posters around the city, with scannable QR codes, letting you complete the survey on your device

We also encourage you to share the survey with your friends / family / colleagues to help spread the word and get as many locals involved as possible. The more people have their say, the more the results will represent the broader community.

Once the results have been collated, Council will provide an update on how this feedback will be used to plan the long-term events calendar.

To thank you for your time and input, we will put every survey response into the randomised draw to win one of 10 prizes, which include cuttlefish-themed tote bags, Unearth Whyalla keep cups, and double passes to the Middleback Arts Centre Cinema.
