Seaview Café to open its doors

The long-awaited opening of the foreshore café pod is now locked in, with the doors to the Seaview Café set to open this Saturday 26 November at 4pm to coincide with the GFG Whyalla Christmas Pageant.
Operators Michele Dix and Robbie Rigg said they can’t wait to open the doors to the café pod - now known as the Seaview Café - and start serving from the beachside location.
“We’ve been working really hard this week to get everything in order to open and provide the much-needed service at the beautiful beachside location” Ms Dix said.
“On Saturday, we will be opening from 4pm to provide a service to support the Pageant and After Pageant Fair, before commencing our usual operating hours from Sunday 27 November. The café will be open from 7am-to–7pm Monday–to-Saturday; and 9am-to-7pm on Sundays, with the capacity to open extended hours for peak times and events.”
The Seaview Café will be serving barista-made coffee; fish and chips; steak sandwiches; burgers; freshly made sandwiches, rolls and salads; cakes and ice-cream just to name a few menu items!
Whyalla City Council CEO Justin Commons said it’s going to be great to see the community and visitors alike back enjoying food and beverages down at the foreshore.
“Importantly, this pod will enable a café service to continue to operate even once redevelopment work starts on the Whyalla Surf Life Saving Club and former café building as part of our Foreshore Master Plan,” Mr Commons said.
The Visitor Information Centre (VIC) pod will also be opening its doors with extended trading this Saturday for the GFG Whyalla Christmas Pageant. Opening from 12pm to 4pm and then re-opening again at 5pm until 7pm.
