Roadworks – Spray Sealing Program Recommences
Boral's spray sealing crew are back in Whyalla next week as Council’s road sealing program continues to roll out.
Manager Depot and Roadworks Thomas Spirat said that spray seal roads are chosen as an option to asphalt as they can last up to 20 years given the right circumstances.
“The idea is to get maximum value for the rate payers’ dollar to maintain a community service level the community expects and can afford based on the rates it pays” Mr Spirat said.
“The Boral crew will be here to complete the last instalment of the sprays sealing component for the current three-year roadwork renewal program.
“This program allows Council to stay on pace with the continual road resurfacing, kerbing, pavement patching, asphalt and spray sealing required in the city and outlying areas.”
“Roadworks is a rolling program throughout the city and the region that never ends.” Mr Spirat said.
The crew will recommence spray-sealing from Monday 10 January.
Various traffic restrictions will be in place with motorists and pedestrians asked to take care and obey all signs and instructions.
Boral have contacted all residents who are directly affected by the works.
Council and Boral would like to thank everyone in advance for their patience.
