New Council Swearing-in Ceremony
With Whyalla’s new Mayor and Council Members now all provisionally declared, the public is invited to view the livestream of their official swearing-in ceremony next week.
The Electoral Commission of South Australia (ECSA) is expected to make the official declarations by Monday next week, so the ceremony is currently scheduled to follow this on Monday from 5.30pm.
As per existing meeting protocols, the event will be livestreamed to ensure as many members of the community as possible are able to view the special occasion. The swearing-in will be followed by a Council Member briefing, which will also be available to view online.
The public will be able to view the livestream of the swearing-in on Council’s Facebook page. The briefing can then be viewed by following this Teams link.
We will provide an update if there is any need to delay the ceremony as a result of the official ECSA process.
You can also find the list of provisionally-declared Council Members on ECSA's website (click on the 'Whyalla' tab).
