It’s Whyalla Show time and we’re excited!! The Whyalla Show is back to its usual pre-COVID format, with preparations currently taking place out at Jubilee Park. The site will come alive this Saturday and Sunday (20 & 21 August) with side shows, rides, loads of food stalls, school displays, stalls and competitions, free entertainment, the horses in action and of course the fabulous fireworks display taking place on Saturday night.
The Whyalla Show Society, Whyalla City Council and a cast of valued volunteers have been preparing the grounds and facilities around the clock for the past few weeks to get everything ready for this weekend.
Mayor Clare McLaughlin said council is pleased to support this annual event for the community and the many visitors that come to enjoy all the Whyalla Show has to offer.
“We want to thank the Whyalla Show Society and all the volunteers who work tirelessly before, during and after the show to ensure that the event is a success,” Mayor McLaughlin said.
“Without their hard work, this event would not be the wonderful weekend that it is.”
Residents are reminded that there will be no tickets sold at the gate. Tickets need to be purchased online or from the Whyalla Show Office, which will be open between 10am – 3pm this Thursday and Friday (18-19 August).
