NOMINATIONS OPEN FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS

Nominations for candidates in this year’s Local Government Elections are NOW OPEN!

If you’ve ever wanted to help decide Whyalla’s future, now’s the time to get your Council nomination in and make a difference.

As a modern, progressive council, we are keen to continue to see nominees from diverse backgrounds, particularly those who have historically been under-represented, to ensure the council member body represents the wide variety of people who call Whyalla home.

This includes:

  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
  • People from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
  • People living with a disability
  • Women
  • Young people (over 18)

If you are passionate about your local community, willing to work as part of a team, and keen to learn and make a difference, then you are an ideal candidate for a position on council.

I’m looking forward to seeing who forms our next Council and the achievements they can implement during what is a very exciting time for our city.”
