Jaycee Park Taylor Street Playground Open For Use
The Jaycee Park (Taylor Street) playground install is now complete, with the playground open for the community to enjoy 😃
This playground is the only one in the city with the unique Bench Carousel. This equipment has a turntable centre with two benches - children and adults can sit on the benches and use the table as a stable base to turn the carousel. The carousel can also be pushed or pulled from the outside to get it spinning around. This is just one of the great new pieces of equipment located at Jaycee Park!
There are further works to be completed, with landscaping, tree planting and a sheltered picnic setting still to be installed.

Toilets Facilities To Be Refurbished at Point Lowly
The two public toilets located at Point Lowly will be closed from Monday 21 March for refurbishment. Two Porta-loos will be installed at the Point Lowly Campgrounds (Boobialla Retreat) whilst the works are being completed.
It’s envisaged that the facilities will be out of use for approximately three weeks whilst the work is being completed.
Upgrades will result in refurbished accessible facilities and include rust removal and painting, electrical upgrades, the installation of rainwater tanks at both sites, and upgrades to the shower facilities (including the shower at the campgrounds (Boobialla Retreat) being replaced with a user pays, tap-and-go hot shower).
We thank the community for being patient and understanding while local contractors, A & G DÓrazio and Co, complete the work at both facilities.

Have Your Say – Community Survey
Dogs Off-Leash Out of Hours at Whyalla Foreshore
Whyalla City Council is seeking your feedback on requests for dogs to be allowed off-leash along the broader foreshore area in the early mornings and late evenings.
Council is interested to hear from the community whether there could be greater flexibility in how it manages these arrangements, particularly focusing on early mornings (before 8am) and evening (after 9pm) across the entire foreshore. We would also like to know if there are other areas across the city that residents would like to see allocated for dogs off-leash.
We would like to hear from all users of the foreshore – both dog owners and those that utilise the foreshore without dogs – through a short survey that has been created.
The survey will be open for the next month, closing on Monday 14 March. Council will use the feedback provided to inform decision making about the space allocated for dogs on or off leash under the new By-laws.
