It’s on the streets, in our shops, distributed throughout South Australia and digitally around the world – it’s the City of Whyalla’s new Unearth Whyalla Visitor Guide!

This glossy new 40-page guide isn’t just a tourism brochure, it’s a statement about our great city and what is has to offer visitors and locals alike.

The guide, put together by the Whyalla Visitor Centre team, is a representation of the city’s many tourism attractions and accommodation options, as well as services, eateries and listings of more than 50 local and regional businesses.

There’s also a great new addition in the self-guided itineraries, showcasing many of Whyalla’s attractions and encouraging visitors to experience more and stay longer.

What’s more, council has teamed up with businesses and organisations to become ambassadors for Whyalla and the region by distributing the guides.

Whyalla Visitor Centre Visitor Experience Coordinator Teresa Coles said the publication was a great example of Whyalla promoting everything it had to offer to the world.

“The Visitor Guide presents Whyalla in a captivating and inspirational way and continues to be the foremost tourism publication for Whyalla,” Ms Coles said.

“This guide is a must-have for visitors, so it’s great to see local businesses contributing by distributing it and becoming the face of Whyalla, helping visitors feel welcome right across our city while ensuring they have the vital information to make their stay even more enjoyable and memorable.

“By promoting local businesses, we hope the guide can result in flow-on effects for the broader economy, not just the tourism industry.”

The guide has been distributed throughout 41 accredited visitor centres across South Australia from Port Lincoln to Coober Pedy, as well as sneaking across the border into Broken Hill and Mildura, not to mention being available to the world in digital form.

If you can’t wait to see a printed copy of the guide, be sure to check out the digital version and forward it on to family and friends – particularly those from out of town – to help spread the word about our great city!
