Brenton Hull Acting Manager Operations and Matt Rotherham Acting Open Space Coordinator at Wilson Park
Turf’s up at Wilson Park
Wilson Park is looking green and gorgeous with the installation of extra turf around the popular skate bowl.
Council staff from the Open Spaces team have been busy rolling out turf, a couch kikuyu blend specially selected to withstand the rigours of high-volume foot traffic.
And being planted at the beginning of winter means the hardy turf will be well established and thriving by the time summer rolls around.
Part of an ongoing beautification project, the installation of the turf will extend the open space areas available for the community to enjoy.
It’s also planned to plant a line of jacaranda trees which will provide welcome shade and soften the aesthetics of this beautiful park.
Brenton Hull, Council’s Acting Manager Operations, was pleased with the living addition to Wilson Park and thanked the Open Spaces team for their work.
“Wilson Park is a well-loved and highly utilised park and Council staff have taken great pride in making this area so inviting for our community and visitors to our city.
“It’s a lovely oasis with wonderful leisure facilities and it’s just fantastic to drive past and see so many people making use of this open space area” Mr Hull said.
