It’s the jewel right on our doorstep, our stunning northern coastline with sweeping views of the blue gulf waters framed by picturesque hills and the Southern Flinders Ranges.
We’ve all done it – packed up the fishing rods, grabbed the swag, rounded up some friends and family and headed out for a weekend of campfire tales, being outdoors and reconnecting with loved ones and nature.
There’s a plethora of awesome campsites to choose along our northern coastline and now, as part of the Cuttlefish Coastline project, some of these sites are set to be officially named.
Why are we naming the campsites?
- To enable referencing, maintenance and monitoring of the area.
- To make it easier for emergency services to locate any calls or incidents to these sites.
While some have informal names – such as Douglas Point North campsite – most of these campsites are un-named, and Council is asking for your suggestions into what they should be called.
- Maybe you already know them by a particular name?
- Maybe you have a suggestion for generic naming convention?
Either way, we’d love to hear from you!
How can I have my say?
- Jump online and fill out the survey today https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RTRXB5B
- Hard copies of the survey are available from the Civic Building, Public Library and Visitor Centre.
We know that locals are connected and passionate about this area and we feel sure you have some wonderful naming ideas, so make sure you have your say before the survey closes on Sunday 20 June!
