Dust off the Christmas Costumes and Get Filming for The 2021 Digital Whyalla Christmas Pageant!
The digital Christmas pageant is back! Dust off the Christmas costumes and bring the Christmas cheer.
Following the success of the 2020 Digital pageant, we are putting the call out for everyone to get involved.
Damien Trenwith from Apex Whyalla said last year’s digital pageant was a huge success, so he hoped it received the same support this year.
“It was brilliant to see the community embrace this concept and get involved, there was so much positive feedback and it was really well received,” Mr Trenwith said.
“We’d all prefer to have the pageant we all know and love, but the restrictions still in place for public gatherings prevent this from happening.
“Were pleased that the Whyalla City Council have again shown their support and come onboard to produce the digital pageant for our community.
“If you’re part of a community group, business or a leader at a school, it would be great if you could get involved and send through your videos for inclusion. Individuals can also join in the festive spirit by sending in their own special Christmas message.”
Apex and council and are keen to see as many floats as possible, so be sure to get creative and make a float for your group. Or if you have an existing float, dust it off, get everyone onboard and film a short film that’s no more than 60 seconds.
No float? That’s ok. You can send in a simple short Christmas cheer message. A quick 30-second “Merry Christmas from all of us at __________” is perfect.
Once you have your recorded message, upload it by following this link:-https://spaces.hightail.com/uplink/WhyallaCityCouncil
When prompted on the screen, drag your file into the box (if you are on a computer), or click the red ‘My Computer’ button to browse your device for your video. Check out the graphic below for an example.
Submissions are open from Monday 1st November until 5pm Sunday 28th November.
Whyalla City Council is assisting Apex by collating and compiling the videos which will then be presented on the Whyalla City Council and APEX Facebook page on a date to be confirmed.
If you are having trouble with the link or have any queries, email communications@whyalla.sa.gov.au and include ‘Whyalla Christmas Pageant’ in the subject line.
