NOMINATE NOW FOR THE CITIZEN OF THE YEAR AWARDS

Nominations for the 2022 Australia Day Citizen of the Year Awards are now open!

We caught up with the 2021 Citizen of The Year Keith Sichler to talk about the impact that being nominated and winning the award has had on him.

Keith shared with us a message about how volunteering in the community has a positive impact on his self-worth and mental health.  “When somebody thanks you for your service, say thank you and listen to that little voice inside of you that says- hey that felt good let’s do that again. That little positive voice is all the reward that you really need. So, nurture it, and listen to it because its good for your mental health.” Said Keith.

“One of the other things was, I was so proud to stand there with all of those people that had contributed so much. There are lots of categories, please pick up the form, please fill it in and nominate someone.”

Nomination are open until Friday 17th December. You can vote online or hard copies of the form are available form the civic building or library.  Completed forms are to be returned to the civic building.

Head to our website for more information and to nominate!
