History Restored
After many years of looking tired and illegible, five out of the 17 Whyalla Centenary Trailway signs have finally had a makeover! The signs located on Hummock Hill have been replaced, with the remaining 12 having their frames painted with the hope of securing additional funding for a full replacement.
Tourism Asset Development Officer Paul Mazourek secured the funding and said it had “been a long time coming”, but he was “pleased to see them looking new again.”
The Centenary Trailway Walk is an important part of our history. It offers a story-telling journey along a 1.6-kilometre route, circling the east end of the city from Whitehead Street through to Hummock Hill and back via Patterson and Forsyth Street.
Both residents and visitors are encouraged to take a stroll along the trail and check out the new signs while learning more about our great city.
