Airport Upgrade moving along
The new Whyalla Airport is taking shape, as work continues on the expanded terminal, enhanced facilities, upgraded runway and improved safety and security measures.
Importantly, the works ensure compliance with new Federal Government screening requirements and airport standards, incorporating significant Federal funding.
You can see in these pictures the external changes to the runway side of the building, the departures lounge and café and the new luggage carousel.

Aged Care Rally
Fantastic to see several hundred people at the Save ANNIE Lockwood Rally Tuesday morning in support of our local aged care residents, aiming to keep the Annie Lockwood facility open.
Council continues to lobby Federal and State governments for support and solutions, and will be discussing the issue with the Premier later this week, with Eddie Hughes MP and Rowan Ramsey both working to find a resolution.
This facility is incredibly important to our community, both now and into the future.

Red Nose Day
Get silly for a serious cause tomorrow on Friday, 13 August. Funds raised on Red Nose Day over the last 30 years have resulted in an incredible 85 per cent reduction in sudden infant deaths. That’s 10,857 babies saved and counting.
To help support Red Nose Day you can purchase a red nose and other merchandise from the Whyalla Public Library and the Visitor Information Centre, which are both open on the weekend as well!

Greener by the day
Wilson Park keeps getting greener with the parks and gardens crew BUSY planting new trees between the carpark and McBryde Tce, with more rain over the last couple days the park is looking lush and green. There was also a new shelter installed to add a little more shade in the open areas near the skate bowl.
