Boral's asphalt crew will be back in Whyalla next week as Council’s road sealing program continues to roll out.
Council’s Senior Projects Manager, Thomas Spirat, said that Council bases the road sealing program on road condition, road use and asset life aligned with various priorities and budget constraints.
“Asphalt is usually applied to roads which are high traffic volumes, or where the road is so deteriorated that resealing is not a viable option” Mr Spirat said.
“The $14.4m three-year roadworks renewal program, which started this financial year, is one of the biggest undertaken by Council in recent times and will result in 43.8km of works over 40 roads in the next three years.”
This round of works will commence on Monday 20 April until Friday 9 May.
Various traffic restrictions will be in place with motorists and pedestrians asked to take care and obey all signs and instructions.
Boral have contacted all residents who are directly affected by the works.
Boral’s spray sealing crew will be back at the end of April and Council will provide further information and reminders next week.
