The Bureau of Meteorology is predicting 46 degrees today in Whyalla with more hot weather to come.
Thursday will be 40 and we're still tipped to get a scorching 48 on Friday.
The City of Whyalla reminds residents to take every measure to keep themselves, their families and pets safe in this heat wave.
There are cool places in Whyalla to escape the heat like the library on Ekblom Street, the Council offices on Darling Terrace (if you get caught short in the city and need a glass of water) or the major shopping centres around the city.
