There will be more than 40 floats, vehicles and walking groups taking part in the 2019 GFG Alliance Whyalla Christmas Pageant on Saturday.
With a muster of entrants at 4pm on the corner of Wood Terrace and Forsyth Street, the pageant will get rolling with the annual Toy Run, heading off just before 5pm, followed by the bright and colourful assortment of floats, vehicles and groups in this year’s pageant.
The pageant will proceed down Forsyth Street, on to Patterson Street before turning right on to Jamieson Street, left on to Cudmore Terrace and finishing on Delprat Terrace. Roads will be closed from 3pm to 6.30pm.
Santa will be dropped off at Ada Ryan Gardens to press the flesh with the kids at the After Pageant Party. There will also be more than 30 craft and food stalls, three jumping castles, face painting, a new maze and live entertainment from Emily Rawlings and duo Blake and Eloise.
Community Radio Station Triple Y (107.7FM) will be playing Christmas tunes during the pageant then going live from 5.30pm at the After Pageant Fair. The pageant and fair are again being organised by the Whyalla Apex Club with sponsors GFG Alliance, the City of Whyalla, Genesee & Wyoming Australia, Southern Cross Austereo and the Prostrate Cancer Association of Australia.

FUN IN THE PARK: The GFG Alliance After Pageant Fair in Ada Ryan Gardens is always popular.
Craig Sinclair from Apex said the 2019 GFG Alliance Christmas Pageant and After Pageant Fair was another fantastic community driven and supported event.
“We have another great range of entries for the pageant and a big assortment of community groups and people putting their hands up to be stall holders at the fair,” Craig said.
“It was be another spectacular pageant with lots of fun at the fair for the kids including a new maze features on the tennis courts.
“Bring your radio to listen in to Triple Y and just join in the fun.”
Those interested in participating in the Toy Run just need to turn up with their motorbikes to the Whyalla Public Library at 4pm for a 4.30pm start. The Toy Run rumbles down the pageant route before the floats get on their way.
