Sky News personality Paul Murray, of Paul Murray Live fame, is bringing his Our Town program to Whyalla on Wednesday, June 12. The Whyalla edition of Our Town is just one of ten being filmed throughout Australia in a partnership between Sky News, Sony Music Entertainment Australia and Harvey Norman.
Our Town will be presented by Paul Murray from a Whyalla venue with a live audience. Mayor McLaughlin will be joined by a panel of Whyalla tourism figures including Council’s Visitor Centre Team Leader Teresa Coles and other special guests. The Our Town crew will also be scouting Whyalla for interesting, quirky and inspiring stories to present on the night.
To cap off the entertainment component of the show, Sony Music will be presenting Samantha Jade who will perform live on the night in Whyalla.

APPEARING LIVE: Sony recording artist Samantha Jade will feature at the Whyalla Our Town broadcast.
Samantha Jade is an ARIA Award-winning Australian singer, songwriter, actress and former child model from Perth. She won the fourth season of The X Factor Australia in 2012 and subsequently signed with Sony Music Australia and released her winner's single What You've Done to Me, which debuted at number one on the ARIA Singles Chart.
Mayor McLaughlin said she was excited to be invited on the show that will air live on Wednesday June 12 from 8.30pm on Sky News Live on Foxtel and on regional free-to-air channel Sky News on WIN.
“This is a real feather in our cap to be included as one of the ten towns on the Our Town schedule this year,” Mayor McLaughlin said.
“Paul is taking his Our Town show to big regional centres like Tamworth, Townsville and Toowoomba so for Whyalla to be included on this list is real acknowledgement of the transformation that is happening here and the buzz that is being created about our great city.
“Australia is going to see an entertaining and insightful look at Whyalla with the community invited to come along and be a part of it.”
