PROUD FAMILY: Christina, Mark Eli, Maksim Nicole and Marco Napoles at their citizenship ceremony with Mayor Clare McLaughlin.

It was a real family affair as Marco Napoles and children Maksim Nicole and Mark Eli took their citizenship vows with Whyalla Mayor Clare McLaughlin.

With mum Christina present, Markco, Maksim Nicole (13) and Mark Eli (15) became proud official Australians in the Council chamber. Marco and Christina have two other children, Mark Richard and Mariela, who are working and studying away at the moment.

The family hails from a busy region in the Phillipines and have come to enjoy the pace of Whyalla and the travel opportunities it presents.

“I’m just ten minutes from work here in Whyalla,” Marco said.

“I really don’t miss the traffic of the Phillipines.”

The family also enjoy travelling from their Whyalla base as they continue to explore the Eyre Peninsula and Australia.

“We often go to Melbourne and we liking going to places like Pt Lincoln, Kimba and Cowell nearby,” Marco said.
