Wednesday, September 25, 2019
Celebrated local author Janice Madden is coming back to the Whyalla Library for her fourth writer's talk.
Now living in Cowell, Janice Madden is a globally successful author - born in Chesire, England - who moved to Australia in 1987. She has written and published successful books about her family and childhood back in England while other books tackle hard-hitting issues like telling refugee stories and the mysterious death of her aunt.
Jan is bringing her latest book The Flower Collection to the Whyalla Library on October 1. This book details the effects of climate change on our wild flowers and what might happen if they disappear completely.
Janet Ashman, the Community Programs Coordinator at the Whyalla Public Library, has enjoyed having Janice at the library in the past and is looking forward to this visit.
"Although Janice lives in Cowell we consider her a local author," Janet said.
"This is going to be her fourth writer's talk at our library,
"Janice is not only a great and very interesting speaker but a lovely lady as well and we enjoy hosting her talks here at the library."
Janice will be at the Whyalla Public Library on Tuesday October 1 from 2 - 4pm where she will be talking about her latest book with first edition signed books available for purchase as well.
Free tickets available at the library. For more details contact the library on 8645 7891.

This a brief summary of 'The Flower Collection' from Janice
“Our earth is rapidly reacting to the effects of Climate Change. The human race must take responsibility for the future of our planet. If our wild flowers vanish from the earth then part of us vanishes too. We will be left with merely one generations memory of a once vibrant earth. The Natural World needs our thoughts and nurtures our souls. We need to recognise that. I hope you enjoy reading “The Flower Collection” and at the same time give some thought to your personal memories of wild flowers. You may be rewarded” Janice Madden
