The City of Whyalla reminds residents there will be a public information session tonight.
Council CEO Chris Cowley and council officers will be on hand from 6pm at the Whyalla Public Library to give a presentation on the new jetty project, the proposed Bennett Oval redevelopment and a host of other projects in progress or in the pipeline for Whyalla.
“We’ve got some exciting things happening, or about to happen, in Whyalla and we want to share them with the community,” Mr Cowley said.
“This is a continuation of Council’s policy of keeping the public informed while also inviting input and feedback on projects and services in our city.
“Our jetty design was chosen by the community, we want the community to tell us what they want at Bennett Oval and we want everyone to be in the loop with all our exciting projects.”
Along with the jetty project and Bennett Oval, the public will hear about the Civic Park solar lights and CCTV, marina moorings, old airport hangar refurbishment, bike and walking paths, stormwater plans, city entrance signs, wetlands wharf, playground upgrades, beach access canopy refurbishment and Hummock Hill lighting.
“We consistently put out information on Council activities and projects through our communication channels but this is a chance for us to talk one-on-one with the community about what is happening in Whyalla,” Chris said.
“We’ll be presenting everything on a big screen and then inviting questions and encouraging discussion on all of these projects.
“It’s our city, these are our projects and we want as many people as possible know about them and where applicable decide what they might look like.”
The public information session starts at 6pm tonight (Thursday, March 21, 2019) in the Vicki Ledo Room of the Whyalla Public Library at 7-9 Ekblom Street, Whyalla Norrie. Phone Council on 8640 3444 for further information.
